It’s easy for people to say quotes like the one above...
…but it’s a completely different ball game actually letting go & moving forward.
Our past experiences play a huge role in who we are and what we want.
We all go through learning experiences that help us develop happier lives, but we can also be left wounded by losses, injustices, and regrets.
If you are unable to let go of your past, you’ll struggle to give your future the attention it deserves, and you’ll miss out on the joy of living in the present.
However, “letting go” is easier said than done, and you may find your mind constantly pulled back to the past, even if you have a genuine desire to move on.
This tends to happen because we need questions answered...
Why did it happen?
Why did it hurt so much?
Why did “they” do that to me?
What could I have done differently?
It’s because of these unanswered questions that we tend to focus on the negative moments instead of the good ones.
The only way to set yourself free from that emotional ball & chain is to accept & forgive.
